Synopsis

Indian-produced whisky Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2023 has been declared the world’s top whisky brand by Whiskies of the World. In a blind taste competition, the Indian peated class whisky prevailed against more than 100 international brands. Peated Indian single malt Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2023 is created using six-row barley and aged in PX Sherry Casks. Indri has previously received several important accolades for their Single Malt Trini, so this is not their first honour.

A Made in India whisky has been picked as the best whisky brand in the world by Whiskies of the World.

The Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2023 got the ‘Double Gold Best In Show’ award in one of the largest whisky-tasting competitions in the world, in which over 100 varieties of whiskies from across the globe compete every year.

The Whiskies of the World Awards are the result of an exhaustive blind tasting that spans numerous rounds and categories. One whisky is named the best whisky in each category by a panel of some of the leading tastemakers and influencers in the alcohol business.

Hundreds of worldwide brands, including American single malts, Scotch whiskies, Bourbons, Canadian whiskies, Australian single malts, and British single malts, were defeated by the Indian peated class whisky.

“Indri has distinguished itself as one of the world’s top whiskies. At the illustrious Whiskies of the World Awards, Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2023 won Best in Show and Double Gold. This victory demonstrates the high calibre and rising global acclaim of Indian single malts, according to a blog post by the Indian whisky’s producers, Indri.

Indri provided additional details about the creation of the Diwali Collector’s Edition, stating that it is a peated Indian single malt created with six-row barley and distilled in traditional copper pot stills made in India. This special expression entices you with a whiff of smoke and awakens your senses to a myriad of flavours like candied dried fruits, toasted nuts, subtle spices, oak, bittersweet chocolate, and more. It was carefully matured in PX Sherry Casks for a considerable amount of time in the sub-tropical climate of North India.

Indri’s Single Malt Trini has previously triumphed in competitions for whisky and spirits in Tokyo in 2023, the Fifty Best World Whiskies Award in 2022, the International Whisky Competition in Las Vegas, and was included in the Top 20 Whiskies of the World list by Whisky Advocate.
